custom dyeing - Individual Dyeing

Custom Dyeing is a service provided for when a cullaChart colour is what you’re looking for but it needs to be exact, or for those delicate items that need a dye bath all to their own. For this service, our CullaChange recipe is created exactly to your item’s weight and fibre make-up. Time is dedicated to allow it to accept the dye at its own pace with no competition. While this is still no guarantee of an exact match, results are almost always in the realm of a close match. Conditions vary when colouring ready-made articles if the sewing thread, linings or trims have other fibres which are coloured with different dyes. We always dye items a second time, at no extra cost, to improve the result if needed. We also offer to adjust our colours slightly - if one of our cullaChart colours needs a little more or less of something, for $45 surcharge we can shift the tone or colour depth to suit you.

Custom Dyeing is recommended when…
• the final CullaChart colour is important.
• delicate and beaded articles that require space to dye evenly.
• vintage garments that may have weakened over time.
• evening gowns with many layers of fabric.
• suits are best dyed on their own.

With all items, we offer to re-dye them a second time at no extra charge if the item is in good condition and a second process could improve the final result. PLEASE NOTE: we do not refund or replace dyed items or any accessories. Our consultants are only too happy to discuss any concerns with you before you go ahead with your order.

Jackets and coats: 90% of internal linings and shell fabrics of jackets and coats have raw fabric edges. We over-lock (secure) these seams before dyeing, so they will not fray open whilst in water. This is an additional cost of $55. We do NOT recommend dyeing articles when seams are unsecured as the item ALWAYS (seriously!) ends up in shreds.
